fresh meat

there is a hunger deep within me
that must be satisfied
it lurks in the darkest of places in my body
waiting to devour on human flesh
it must feed every so often
or it will consume me from the inside out
i begin my neverending task of feeding this monster inside me
the house of sin stands glistening from the moonlight’s kiss
the house beckons me
eat…eat…there is plenty of food here…come inside and eat…
i fell under her spell and the hunger took over
i ran inside and removed any limitations on me
locking them away
i stepped back into the darkened hallway and see them
walking around going into different rooms
the meat
its meal
my meal
i am starving
a man puts me into a corner
feels the curves of my body
the moment he put his lips on mine
i ate him
my god did he taste delicious
i walked around this dark maze
taking bites out of passersby
i went into the boiling cauldron and feasted again
more…i need more…
their flesh tasted sweet and tender
in my trance i felt arcane teeth bite me
between a place of ecstasy and pain
it was vicious how they tore my skin apart
i left the cauldron bloody and still hungry
i saw the men steaming themselves and joined them
it was dark
no one said a word
we moved like serpents
taking huge bites out of our silhouettes
the more men i ate
the stronger the monster became
after what felt like days
the monster was finally full and went to sleep
i left the house of sin with barely any skin on me
at least the monster was not hungry anymore
this hunger will be the death of me one day
but there will always be more fresh meat to feast on
still got room for more?
Paolo Bozzo is a queer artist from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He is an actor, playwright, screenwriter and poet. His first play “What A Nightmare” debuted in April 2024 where he also directed, wrote and guest starred in the production. His film credit includes: Scenes from a Place Where Rails and Water Meet.
