Slash Magazine is a periodical independent literary magazine celebrating the horror genre. Slash Magazine is featured as both an online magazine and a small-run print feature.
How can I contribute my writing or art?
We open submissions for periodical editions of Slash Magazine shortly after each edition is complete. Right now, submissions for our late 2025 issue are open from August 30th to October 3rd. Submission is free, so we'd love to see your work! Send your submission to theslashmedia@proton.me
My piece is more of a horror/comedy, is that okay?
Of course it is. That's what Slash is all about! Pieces don't need to be strictly horror, they can be horror/anything. Get creative!
Can I use generative AI for my submission?
Absolutely not. The only mention of AI we will accept is an original piece about how much AI sucks.
Do I retain the rights to my pieces?
Yes! We do not claim ownership over your work. You will be credited accordingly, and if you would like to submit your Slash Magazine pieces anywhere else, we wholeheartedly encourage you to do so. We're thankful for your participation in our collection.
I didn't make it into the upcoming issue. Can I submit again next time?
Please, do! If your piece isn't selected for a specific issue, we will let you know. It may fit better in a future issue, at which point we will reach out to you.
Are there limits to what can be submitted?
Only a few - blatant hate speech that is inherently racist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, and misogynistic is abhorred. Do not submit a piece filled with hatred. We obviously read through each piece to make our selections, and reserve the right to block you from submitting anything in the future should you send us pieces filled with your hatred. This is a non-negotiable.
