My therapist’s drugs weren’t working
And I needed a cure
This depression’s been the worst
I feared that it’d cave me in
Until I had the first bite
Wasn’t expecting it’d be mush
But I couldn’t stop biting
I needed to have it all
The brain melted in my mouth
Like vanilla ice cream in Wasaga Beach
For the first time I wasn’t bothered by blood
Now I can finally watch all the Scream movies
People would say I was worse than bad
But it gave me happiness, which I’ve never had
I’m now living the life of my dreams
All because of that very first feast
And I know someday I’ll only have two years left
All because my reprieve comes with a disease
When I laugh my way to eternal sleep
I remember all the memories I made from my feasts.
